Researchers Andreas Eklund and company have described chiropractic maintenance care (MC) as a long-term strategy for musculoskeletal disorders. The goals are to prevent future episodes and slow or arrest progression by treating patients at regular intervals, regardless of symptoms. Over the past few years their research has been able to stratify three groups of patients and identify which are better candidates for MC.

This month they published the results of their study on the MAINTAIN instrument, a 10-question test that has been validated as a clinical tool to select which patients have a higher chance of treatment success with MC. The MAINTAIN instrument is open-access and available for all chiropractors to use. You can find the study and the instrument here:
